Indy Radio Update
Don’t miss our Valentine’s Day special edition of The Indypendent News Hour this Tuesday from 5–6 p.m. on WBAI-99.5 FM. We’ll be speaking for the full hour with Nicholas Powers about his cover story on Black Love and its transformative impact on American history. Nicholas is a professor of African American Literature at the State University of New York. Our discussion will draw on his knowledge of Black history, the Black literary canon and his own experience of becoming a parent for the first time and raising his son as a single Black father.
Visit our radio archive to catch all our latest shows. On Tuesday we spoke with independent media activist Rachel Hu and Black Lives Matter organizer-turned-City Councilmember Chi Ossé. In recent shows, we have also spoken with Indy columnist John Teufel about his experiences as an investigator for the Civilian Complaint Review Board and what it taught him about the NYPD and Kristen Gonzalez, the latest democratic socialist to join the New York State Senate and the youngest woman to ever serve in that legislative body.
