May Day Protests + Labor on the Move
Happy May Day! Our reporters will be in the streets today as New Yorkers mark International Workers Day, which is celebrated as an official holiday in more than 100 countries but not in the country where it originated. May Day has also been a day to march for immigrant rights since 2006.
Today’s main event will be a “Student and Workers March for Palestine” rally that begins at Foley Square at 4 p.m.
No doubt there will be thousands marching for Palestine today, especially after last night’s storm-trooper-esque raids on encampments at Columbia and City College. Palestinian trade unions have also called for a general strike today. For breaking news, follow us on Indy Twitter and Indy Instagram.
