Will NYC Be a Sanctuary City Under Trump?

More than three million out of New York City’s eight million plus residents are foreign-born. An estimated 500,000 of those are undocumented immigrants working in restaurants, construction, bicycle delivery, day labor, etc. New York is the immigrant city. Their presence gives the city its dynamism and its diversity. For Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, New York embodies everything they loathe about big cities and the cosmopolitan half of America.
